We are pleased to release our revised homepage. Revised homepage? At first glance, not that much seems to have changed. We consciously accepted this decision when programming and designing. We didn’t want to completely overthrow the familiar and, in our opinion, attractive design. Instead, we wanted to address and eradicate the experiences and problems that we have accumulated over the past few years. Of course, there were also a few visual adjustments.
But first things first. The biggest change happened in the background. Since 2023, our small platform has been completely independent again. So to speak, by Agility enthusiasts for Agility enthusiasts. Of course, the work and the ideas for a revised homepage came about a few months in advance. This was followed by many sleepless nights, a lot of work and thousands of thoughts. Many ideas were discarded or put on hold for the time being – but luckily sometimes they were just done. The balancing act between ideas and budget is not always easy.
The biggest and most important change for us is the width of the entire homepage. Compared to the old version from 2016, we now have significantly more space for the content. Especially with tables, we were often put to the limit in the past with the scarcely available space. Another change that probably catches your eye right away is the splash of color. Each category has now been given its own color and the images and text have been slightly enlarged. This should make it easier to read. We made a conscious decision to go against the mobile site trend. agilitynow.eu should look the same on all devices. And contain the same functions.
We have to admit that one or the other additional advertising space has been added. Without them, the project would unfortunately not be possible and financeable in this way. We have monthly server costs that need to be covered. And of course we are also looking forward to a small subsidy for all the hours of work that are put into this heart project. Another innovation is our shop. In the future we will try to offer you interesting accessories in the form of clothing, mugs and some useful Agility gear. The range is constantly being expanded.
We have redesigned the event pages and made them clearer.
One of the most popular features of agilitynow.eu has always been the event calendar. In principle, we wanted to leave it as is. In other words: Only tournaments selected by the editors appear in the list. You can now see the status in the list. That means you can see when the registration for the tournaments is open. So you don’t miss a deadline. The individual tournament pages have a completely new look. We have brought some order into it and thanks to the new system in the background we can react a little more flexibly to individual events. Another popular feature that has been revamped is the Course Plan Overview. This is now clearly displayed in a table. It enables easy filtering and sorting by judge, level of difficulty, event and length.
A new feature is the “AWC All-Time Statistic”. Here we looked into the history books and created an overview of all medal winners of the past World Championships since 1996. Subject to errors. This table can also be filtered as desired. For example, according to the country or the individual breeds. Also new is the display of current live streams in the main navigation. This makes finding live streams easier. We always try to add them as soon as possible. Of course, in addition to our own live streams, there are also those from other sources.

And last but not least we reintroduced the user section. You can create an account for free. More features will gradually follow in the near future, where you can use additional nice tools with an account. We will of course keep you posted for further updates.
