Tot gauw! – FCI Agility World Championship 2024 in Belgium

Belgium gets the bid for the upcoming Agility World Championship next year. This was decided at the last meeting of the FCI Agility Commission in Prague last weekend. For Belgium, the tournament is a small premiere, as they have never organized an Agility World Championship before. The other two Benelux countries, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, on the other hand, have already been organizers in the past. The date and venue is not yet known at this stage.

Due to the turbulent last years with the Corona pandemic and the cancellation of the World Championship in Russia due to the warlike invasion of the Ukraine, the time from the awarding to the realization is again rather short. That this is not an obstacle to successful World Championships was proven by the Austrian organizers last year when they replaced Russia and organized the biggest Agility event of the year within a few months.

The choice of Belgium is a logical development after the successful organization of last year’s European Open, which received much commendation. The Belgian federation has also proposed the local personnel who will be in the ring as judges. These are Thora van Der Stock and Jeremmy Manno. The former should also be known to most since the European Open last year.
