Two days ago, I had a long phone conversation with a good friend from abroad. Eventually, we came down from the actual content of our conversation and have philosophized about the World Championship from next week. At the same time we asked ourselves also who won actually in the last few years? Even me, who has written many of them somewhere down on this site, could not remember completely. Finally, we had to admit also that not just the winner counts. Even the joy of successful runs with great sequences, it doesn’t matter if there were clean runs or not. Or should Tereza Kralova, for example forget the almost victory in AWC 2016? Until the second last jump it was one of the best runs ever from them. The memories live on in each and every one of us, just in a very own way. Memories of the sports part, but also memories of the whole trappings and the road to the World Championship. Nevertheless, we want to look back to the winners and their final runs in a series of the four last Agility World Championships. And on this point I wish my good friend (she knows for sure who is meant) all the best and a lot of fun in Kristianstad.
We start with the World Championship 2014 in Luxembourg, which was held in the special arena Coque. Winner in the large tournament was Lisa Frick with Hoss – for the fourth time overall. Very close placed behind Lisa, was the Swede Jenny Damm. It should be the last great duel of the two for a longer period. But not Lisa or Jenny ran the fastest time over both runs. It was Silvan Zumthurm with Border Collie Fleece from Switzerland. However, the Swiss got shortly before the finish a contact fault on the dogwalk.
Large Individual:
Lisa Frick with Hoss
Jenny Damm with Lilli
Desiree Snellemann with Pace
The unstoppable chase from the Czech Republic in the medal table is not only due Tereza Kralova and Say, or the strong team results. No, Martina Magnoli Klimesova and Kiki are always in the best shape just in time for the World Championship. So also 2014 in Luxembourg. It should be not the last title for them. The audience in Luxembourg was all on the side of the second-placed – Werner Goltz with Esmeralda. Both are again on the start in Sweden.
Medium Individual:
Martina Magnoli Kliesova with Kiki
Werner Goltz with Esmeralda
Outi Harju with Olli
Paul Hirning and Jet will miss in Sweden. At that time 2014, both we’re almost every year part of the German national team. The 2014 title was also the last of a successful career of the two. Not only Sheltie Jet is born in Switzerland. Also the second place Martin Eberle and Eyleen come from Switzerland. Also, this team will not participate in Kristianstad.
Small Individual:
Paul Hirning with Jet
Martin Eberle with Eyleen
Roland Kolenko with Kira
