The Swedish Agility Association is considering a possible tournament ban until the end of June 2021

The second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic holds the world still under control. Especially since the numbers in many countries are higher than they were when the pandemic started in February and March. In most countries within Europe, the governments and associations have taken far-reaching measures. Tournaments are practically no longer feasible, trainings are also on the black list of activities that are no longer allowed. A fact which is of course also the main topic in many national Agility associations at the moment. This was also the case at the last board meeting of the Swedish association a week ago. The biggest topic of the meeting at the end of the 2020 financial year was of course Corona. And one point in particular caught the attention of many people in Sweden.

A possible tournament ban until June 30, 2021 is in the pipeline. Similar to the Swedish Equestrian Federation and some other Swedish associations from other sport activities. How concrete this idea really is will be shown at the next meeting on 16 January, when the situation will be reassessed. For the moment, however, they left it at the temporary tournament ban. Corona also has a major impact on finances due to a lack of revenue from tournaments and licenses. This is an image that runs through all the associations of Europe. In Sweden, according to the protocol of the board meeting, the deficit is large. The budget for 2021 is currently being prepared with the aim of continuing the association economically after the pandemic. The complete board meeting can be found at the link below.
