The Netherlands is following and will also introduce another size class

After Spain announced yesterday the introduction of two new size categories, is there now similar news from the Netherlands. Independent of each other and with just four instead of five categories is the Netherlands following other countries with more than the usual three categories. The decision for the fourth size category was made with great pressure from the scene. The new size category is called Intermediate and is for dogs with a withers height of 43cm to 50cm. The jump height will be 50cm for this class. Because of the fact that the category isn’t supported by the FCI, it is up to the teams whether they want to start in the Large or in the new Intermediate category. The fourth size category should be introduced already this year on June 24, with all necessary changes. The “official” FCI size categories remain untouched. Also discussed was the introduction of an XS category, such as that is used since two years in Sweden. But this proposal was rejected. The decision in Spain, the United Kingdom and now in the Netherlands will continue the trend towards more categories.
