Instead of the traditional Guldagility tournament, the Swedish championships are now taking place in Kalmar. The organizers announced this change due to the Covid-19 situation last week. The current situation has not only an impact on the venue, but also the way the tournament is held. The rough schedule published today shows the biggest change. Instead of carrying out all size categories on the same day as usual, it is planned to spread them over the four days. As already announced, the usual team competition will be completely eliminated for this year.
The Medium dogs were scheduled for Thursday, the Small dogs followed on Friday, then the two newer size categories Large and XS on Saturday. The conclusion is made on Sunday by the XLarge dogs. Better known in most countries as the FCI-Large category. Anyone who somehow wants to see the whole thing on site will be disappointed. Because they once again explicitly points out that no spectators are allowed on site. Even if you start with, for example a Medium dog on Thursday, and then with a Large dog on Saturday – staying on the show grounds is prohibited on Friday, for example. Instead, you should visit the beautiful city of Kalmar with its sights or follow the action via a professional livestream.
