Slovenian Open 2023: The best preparation for the European Open

The field of participants of this year’s Slovenian Open was in part already very similar to that of the European Open. The best conditions in Slovenia to prepare for the big upcoming summer tournament. And the spectators on site or at home in the Livestream were rewarded with Agility on world class level. Two of the four titles went to Poland, the other two to Germany and Austria. Alex Beitl, Roman Lukac and Kine Eimhjellen were the judges of this years tournament.

In the Large tournament, were with Miriam Schopen and Mona Grefenstein two German women on the podium. However, the lead of Miriam Schopen and Border Collie Mii was impressive. Namely almost two seconds. On the other hand, it was super close around second place. Thomas Soccodato with Rox gained a mini-lead of 0.09 seconds over Mona Grefenstein and Sea. Also Iwona Golab and SeeYa had a big gap in the Intermediate category over second placed Mona Grefenstein with Qju. Here, however, the German was ahead of the Hungarian Csenge Ficzere and Zuki. Besides the absolute best time, Iwona Golab was also the only one to finish Roman Lukac’s run without a mistake.

The Czech Aneta Obrusníková qualified for the Medium final with three dogs. All in the same category, mind you. In the end, luck was not entirely on her side. She made a mistake with both Mudi Ollie and Chilli. Without them it would have been 1st and 2nd place. At least there was still second place with third dog Arielka in the end. The winner of the tournament was Anna Plenk from Austria with Nanu. With Nadine Kohl and Zola there was another Austrian on the podium. In the Small tournament Magdalena Ziolkowska wins with Mazzi ahead of Dalma Naggyőr with Welle and Denisa Lajmarová and Rally. Again, also Kine Eimhjellen from Norway seemed to have set a tough challenge. Only three teams were clean on the scoreboard.
