Yesterday, an unofficial competition was held in Domžale, Slovenia, in memory of Kris Koprivnik, who died last December much too early. The event was organized by the Agility club “Kd Agility Ilirija” around Manca Mikec. The event was supposed to take place in April, but was postponed for a month due to the corona pandemic. The new arrangement was held taking into account the current regulations. Two open runs were held with courses from past World Championships, which Kris Koprivnik once ran himself. In addition, there was a tunnel cup at the end, Kris’ favorite discipline.
All earnings of the event went entirely to the friend of the deceased Monika Pleterski and the dogs. The two had been a couple for 17 years until the tragic death. It was all the more emotional for her yesterday, as well as for everyone else, when Miha Primožič completed the two courses with Kris Sheltie Seven, and finishing both runs without faults. In addition to many other well-known and lesser-known faces, his old companions from the European Open Gold Medal team of 2018 Sandi Okanovic, Maruša Podjed, and Manca Mikec also took part in the competition in honor of Kris Koprivnik. The competition was a small step back into normality. But it also showed cohesion within the Agility scene and of course also within Slovenia. So the first Run 4Kris was a tournament in the spirit of Kris Koprivnik, who certainly followed the whole event with pride and a wink somehow.
