Portuguese City Abrantes becomes 2021 Agility capital

The Portuguese club Cinofilo do Alentejo has announced that they will held three of the major events European Open, Junior Open Agility World Championships and the Border Collie Classics in 2021. They set up a homepage specifically for the year 2021 with further informations in the future. Although that the European Open will held in two years in the westernmost tip of Europe had been known for some time. But not the allocation of the Junior Open Agility World Championships (formerly Junior European Open) and the implementation of the Border Collie Classics. All three events take place on three consecutive weekends in midsummer. The latter takes place from July 29 to August 1, 2021, the European Open from July 22 to July 25, and the newly renamed Junior Open Agility World Championship from July 15 to 18.

All three events take place in the nearly 15,000-plus population town Abrantes. This is pretty much in the middle of Portugal. Where exactly the tournament will take place was not mentioned yet. If the events are again similar in dimensions as in the previous years, then the municipal football and athletics stadium “Estádio Municipal de Abrantes” could serve as a venue.
