The most successful nation in the team competitions this weekend was Norway with two gold medals in the Large and Small categories. The remaining Gold medal in the medium tournament was won by the host country Denmark. Last year, the Norwegian national team was still behind Sweden in the Small competition but showed at that time already signs of serious competition for the traditionally strong Swedes. This year, the on two positions changed team of Eli Beate Sæther, Tonje Sollied Johansen, Tarjei B. Hveding-Gabrielsen, Marion Svendsen and John Odlolien, win Gold ahead of Sweden. Third-placed is Finland, which, unlike last year, displaces Denmark from the podium.
But there was a small swatter for Norway in the medium category. As the defending champion started in the race, they remained during the podium ceremony only as spectators. For a moment even the gold medal was forgotten from before. Other nations had there a bit more to cheer about. Above all, the Finns around Jari Laitinen, Minna Päivärinta, Anniina Salo and Ville Liukka. Last one is represented twice in the team. Second are the Danes and third Sweden, which still receive a medal compared to the previous year. All the more gratifying from the Norwegian point of view was the large result, where there was no medal last year and now, in 2019, the gold medal. Second is Denmark, who with two silver medals also look back on a successful team record. And third-placed are the favorite Swedes around Jenny Damm.
