Austria National Championship 2018: «Staatsmeisterschaft» became a mud fight

Christina Paulik, husband Helmut Paulik and Thomas Berger win the title of the Austrian National Championship in their respective category. The Austrian “Staatsmeisterschaften” are traditionally divided into a team competition on Saturday and an individual tournament on Sunday. The event is also almost traditionally held in the open air. And just as almost traditional, even if not exactly desired, the weather didn’t quite cooperate. Also this year in Linz, Upper Austria. Various runs took place under rainy and wet conditions.

Christina Paulik and Funny got a little hattrick, who have now secured the title of Austrian “Staatsmeister” for the third time. The advantage over Sissy Graf and Asics was only minimal in the combination of both runs. Christina Paulik won the duel with a faster Jumping. Third place is Heinz Karl Ganzi with Hype. Lisa Frick was one of the favorites at the start. At least half. She and Jack got an elimination in the Jumping and in the later A run the record world champion decided against a start because of the wet surface.

What an emotional weekend! After yesterday’s team title, Funny runs 2 super clean runs today and is thus National champion in the individual for the third time. A result that I hadn’t even dared to dream about lately. For all of this, I was allowed to stand next to the very best “sister” and friend Sissy (Graf – editor’s note) with Asics on the podium. It couldn’t be more beautiful … but then … Helmut and Kiwi got the title in the Medium for the second time and made the party perfect. They did it so incredibly well, both of them.
Husband Helmut Paulik and Kiwi defend the title from the previous year with two clean runs. The two were then also the only team that remains without faults. One of the favorites for the win Tamara Sedlmaier and You made a mistake in Jumping. In terms of time, it was 1st place, but corrected for faults, it was enough for third place. Claudia Ringer came in second with Cosmo. In Jumping she got a little overtime due to an incredible run by Lukas Aigner and Peach.

I’m just speechless … After yesterday it went again one better. Me and and Kiwi are the National Champion in Medium in the individual with 2 super zero clean runs and thus we confidently defend our title from last year! I am very proud of my little one. As if that wasn’t enough, Funny and Christina also won The national championship in Large. I’m even more proud of the 2. A great weekend for our family!
Not surprisingly, the Small title goes to Thomas Berger and Noobsi. With a stable two second cushion out of the two runs, he wins the title of Small Staatsmeister. Sandra Anton came in second with Flo, followed by Anna Jantschgi with Karma. With a time of 70.59 compared to Thomas Berger’s 67.20, she also stayed within reach.
