The COVID-19 epidemic brings another major rejection with it. The organizers of the Moravia Open announced today that the tournament will not be held in summer 2020 due to the currently unclear situation. According to the official announcement, they want to keep up the international status of the tournament. For this reason, no alternative with only Czech participants or a reduced number of participants was considered.
The original plan was to make the last decision in late May. Already in the last statement was the talk of, that they don’t want to take any risk if the situation is not clear at all. On the sidelines of todays the rejection in today’s statement, however, the final implementation will be announced next year. However, without giving a date.
