Germany wins the Medal Table at this World Championship by a narrow margin ahead of Great Britain with one more Gold Medal than the British. Overall, the Brits take home the most medals. A clear sign that Germany’s dominance cannot be taken for granted. Italy and Norway shared third place with one Gold and one Silver medal each. Fourth place goes to the host country with a Gold medal from Aneta Obrusníková with Chilli.
Belgium, who lost two strong runners for different reasons before the World Championships, also showed a strong performance and were always at the forefront in both the team and individual competition. Denmark won a team Silver medal, Hungary two Bronze medals. Then in eighth place come the teams that were able to get a Bronze medal. This includes Switzerland, among others. For Switzerland this marks the end of a long dry spell.
