The Estonian championships took place last Saturday in Kääriku, near Tartu, with a fantastic backdrop. It was a competition with a lot of emotions. The big high-flyer of the weekend was Kaisa Tsäro, who ran onto the podium with all of her three dogs in the Medium category. The Small tournament wins the Estonian veteran Dmitri Kargin with Sheltie Davis. Reet Volt with Riin wins the Large category, Ege Taliaru and Gitta the new category of the smaller Large dogs. In the Extra Small category, also introduced a few years ago, Andrei Gaidunko wins with Terrier Beam. As judge was the former Czech Agility World Championship judge from 2017, Petr Pupik invited.
In addition to the amazing performance of Kaisa Tsäro, who took the entire Medium podium with her own dogs and left the other competitors no chance, there were many other little stories about the Estonian championship in 2021. Among other things, the probably most successful Estonian athlete Marta Miil announced in advance that this will be Sheltie Jay’s last tournament due to a long-term injury following a major accident last year. A podium place was denied, nonetheless, the two were said goodbye with appropriate applause.
