Avallon Cup

Cancellation after cancellation: Avallon Cup is also suspended for one year

The corona virus crisis causes the next cancellation in the tournament calendar. The organizers of the largest tournament in France have also announced that there will be no event this year due to the current epidemic. The Avallon Cup in the city with the same name in France should have been held at the end of July. Although the situation is expected to improve by July, the desire to travel in July is likely to remain limited. Precisely because, according to the organizing association Chiens sportifs de l’Avallonnais, a third of the participants come from abroad. Last year, 26 different nations were represented. A value that hardly any other comparable event creates.

In a statement on Facebook, however, the tournament was announced in 2021 in the same train, which again awaits with many new surprises. The team around the main responsible Fabrice Laligant takes the precautionary cancellation athletically. At the same time, one would like to support the local “heroes” from medicine around Avallon with a fundraising by selling Bracelettes.

Statement Fabrice Laligant

Seeing the sanitary conditions, we decided to cancel. Even if the situation is better in July, people will no longer have the head to travel, to party. A decision motivated by a certain caution, since a third of the participants come from abroad. Last year, twenty-six countries were represented.
