The first Individual competition was also every second worth watching it. For a long time it looked like a victory for the Swiss Petra Häusermann, who had led almost the entire competition. Only the last 10 runners really stirred up the podium completly. First she was pushed out of the lead by Manuela Satta and Pif from Italy. This in turn was pushed off at the top of the stairs just a few starters later by Channie Elmestedt with Fame from Denmark. Christelle Riot and Mayev, the third-to-last team, also finished on podium on third place. In the end, Petra Häusermann (in quotation marks) only had an unfortunate fourth place. Of course, still a great result and an even better starting point for the Agility run on Sunday.
A trio stayed at the top within 0.03 seconds for what felt like an eternity. Petra Häusermann with 31.50, the later fifth-placed Svetlana Kreslina with 31.51 behind and the Briton Dalton Meredith with 31.52. Shortly before the end, no one would have thought that the first three would change so much again. Anders Virtanen’s course caused only little difficulty. Just 17 teams failed to reach the finish line. But it was even more exciting to compare the teams’ times. The fight for the final medals will continue in the second-to-last run on Sunday.
