Germany almost achieved the hatttrick. Until, towards almost the end of the competition, the Italians around Nicola Giraudi, Martina Magnoli-Klimesova, Veronica Odone and Giacomo Biancalani conjure up four fast and clean runs on the holy green turf of Liberec. But as it turns out afterwards, some of the Italian times were hand-stopped. Usually people tend to stop too late. So the lead of now 0.33 seconds could be even a little bigger – or of course also less. We will never know.
Germany with Max Sprinz, Mona Grefenstein, Nadine Alshut and Sabine Kreuz have to settle for second place. Switzerland ranks behind Germany. In the third attempt it worked for the Alpine country after they were already so close to the podium yesterday in both the Small and Medium competition and then failed due to stupid mistakes. The team consists of Silvan Zumthurm, Alice Laforge, Nathalie Brunner and Yannick Boutellier. The latter impressed with a super-fast run. Unfortunately, with 3 dropped poles.
In addition to the timing of the Italian team, there was also a spot on the course which caused discussions. The dog’s line led out of the slalom at a 90° angle. Some dogs slipped there badly. For Naarah Cuddy and Lemon it was so badly that the Border Collie only stood on three legs and had to stop the run. At this point we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it’s nothing serious.
