After the Jumping, the starting position for the Small Individual Final couldn’t be more exciting. 15 teams are within 2 seconds. But first things first. The run started already with a real firework. First Martin Reid did a clean run with Selfie. His time was 34.62s. Whether the time was worth something would become clear one run later when Tobias Wüst and Dörte started their run. However, his time of 34.87s was not enough for the lead. In the end it should be the 8th place for him. But anyone who believed that 34.62 seconds was the new benchmark was proven wrong just a few starter later. Mark Herfert, who recently emigrated from Canada to Slovenia, clocked a 34.19sec on the hallowed green turf.
The time then lasted longer. Mark was able to keep well-known teams at bay. Only Renan Campos from Brazil pushed him off the top with 34.03s. An incredible performance from the Brazilian with Sheltie Ice. The time was put only once really under pressure, as shortly before the end Kjersti Jørgensen and Agi closed the gap to within 0.09 seconds. For the long leading one Mark Herfert it was the third place on the final scoreboard. Claudia Schwab with Ellie came fourth and Oleksandra Ivaschenko with Shanty came fifth. She finished fourth overall last year. The tight starting position couldn’t be more exciting for Saturday evening.
