The first round of this year’s World Championship has already offered a firework of action. The fireworks would probably shine in the colors yellow, red and black from Germany. The team wins the team jumping with absolute dominance. They complete all four runs without any faults. Even the fast time of the reigning individual world champion Stefanie Simson with 35.42 seconds is already the worst result of the team and has been deleted. Tobias Wüst, Max Sprinz and Silas Boogk were a bit faster. The first two mentioned are the only ones that stay under 33 seconds.
Shortly before the end, Slovakia placed behind Germany on second place. With Monika Blaško, Pavol Vakonič and Simona Filová. Slovenia came third with Mark Herfert, Roland Kolenko, Sandi Okanović and Zvonko Valenčak in the team. Only 12 teams out of a total of 34 achieved three counting results without any disqualification and still have a realistic chance of one of the top places.
There was a strange moment shortly before the end. When Thomas Berger and Noobis forgot the course at the probably stupidest moment. Something that has probably happened to each of us at some point already. With a little help from Alex Beitl he was able to continue the run without any mistakes in the end on the scoreboard. It was enough for the Austrians to finish 7th. Then, of course, there were many close moments where a run that was already thought to be safe and clean resulted in a disqualification shortly before the end. This was the case for example with the Swiss and Spanish teams, among others. Both would otherwise also be found in the top positions.
