Aneta Obrusníková and Chilli replace Daniel Schröder and Cashew as Medium World Champions. James Adams with Willow from Great Britain came second and Magdalena Gadomska from Poland with Kudel came third. There are probably not many who didn’t appreciate the title of the Czech Aneta Obrusníková. Not only did she deliver top results with all three dogs throughout the year, she also confirmed this performance at the World Championships. And since Team Jumping at the latest, she has found her way into the hearts of many. However, there was a small drop of bitterness on her side on Saturday. With Ollie she ran by far the best running time. Unfortunately with a mistake. A disqualification followed today. With Chilli, she ran the fifth fastest time today.
Second place goes to James Adams with English Cocker Spaniel Willow. It is his second medal at this World Championship after Team Gold. He set the eighth fastest time in the Agility run. Immediately after him at the start was Silas Boogk and Beam – Vice World Champion last year. After a flying seesaw, defense was no longer possible. Asako Fujitani started her run with Tono from a promising position too. Unfortunately, her hand touched the long jump pole. That wouldn’t be a mistake in and of itself, but it seemed to irritate her for a moment. The result of this was a refusal and a short time later a disqualification.
The next person at the start and the last hope for Germany was Daniel Schröder with Cashew. As a World Champion, of course all eyes are automatically on you. He and Cashew got a mistake on the dogwalk and dropped a bar a bit little later. The German wrote honestly about the run on social media afterwards. So it’s a certain relief for him personally after he and Cashew have been churning out victories and good results for years. In our opinion, this performance and the words deserve great respect.
As second to last, the aforementioned new World Champion Aneta Obrusníková with Chilli ran without mistakes. Nadine Kohl was the last one left. Unfortunately, she didn’t finish her run after a good start. Magdalena Gadomska comes third with Pudel Kudel. She put in two quick and confident runs that took her from 8th place to 3rd place. One of the tragic figures this weekend was Maria Sori. In the team competition, the young Finn already showed two clean and fast runs, but missed out on a medal with the team. In the Individual Jumping on Saturday it also looked like a fast and clean run until very shortly before the end. There the tyre broke into two pieces as the second-to-last obstacle. It was the second fastest time. And in the Agility run today she set by far the fastest time without any mistakes. So close to the World Championship title. These are the stories that our Agility sports write. Joy and suffering are often close together. But its a name that we will certainly hear more often in the future.
