AWC 2023: Dalton Meredith is also crowned World Champion after winning already the European Open title

The first Intermediate World Champion has been determined. It’s Dalton Meredith and Clippy. The two already won the European Open in Denmark in the summer. Today he is crowned world champion after a perfect run. Only two runs remained under the 39 second mark. The time of the Brit and that of the Slovenian Matej Čuček with Ninja. Just Matej had a mistake in his amazing run. In the end it got exciting again between the Brit and the winner of the Jumping Channie Elmestedt with Fame. She also ran a clean run, although she was almost two seconds behind Dalton. The advantage from the previous Jumping over the Brit was less than a second. Consequently, her name appeared after Dalton on the final scoreboard.

She almost came third behind Gerda Žemaitytė. Gerda from Lithuania started an impressive race to catch up with a very fast Agility run. She started from 11th place and left a total of 9 teams behind her. Partly because of the better time, or because the teams didn’t finish the runs. Either way, her time presented a difficult task for many teams. For Lithuania it is the third medal at a World Championships. The other two bronze medals were team medals.

Iwona Gołąb and SeeYa missed the podium by a tiny 0.02 seconds. The Polish flag also appears in fifth place. With a brilliant comeback – similar to Gerda Žemaitytė, Monika Rylska and Koza Nostra took 5th place. Tobias Wüst and Eve came sixth. He also started the Agility run significantly further back. After Germany ran everything into the ground, especially in the team competitions, they had to fight harder in the Individual competitions. This clearly shows how tight things are at the top. Exactly what we as viewers want to see. We congratulate all medal winners and of course also those for whom it wasn’t quite enough. It was a great competition. The Intermediate category is definitely an enrichment for the sport.
