After the unexpected and tragic death of Josef Göllner, the founder and leading head behind the Amadeus Horse Indoors last March, it was initially not clear how the prestigious equestrian and dog sports event in the heart of Salzburg would continue. It is now clear: the tournament will continue with a new, old team in 2022. The only downer is that the Amadeus Horse Indoors will not take place this year due to various factors. On the one hand, the corona pandemic has not yet been completely overcome and the risk of an event of this size being canceled is simply too great. The second factor is the short period of time since the death of Josef Göllner and the associated reorganization of the event and the organization team. Last year the tournament was held already in a scaled-down version without spectators due of the pandemic. Also without the Amadeus Agility Worldcup.
The new organizational team consists of Ruth M. Büchlmann, Thomas Kreidl and Arnold Kirschner. All three were already part of the team under Josef Göllner and have accompanied the event in the 16 years since it was first held 2006. In addition to a lot of encouragement from the riding community, the long-term sponsors also contributed to the continued existence by actively seeking a conversation with the new organization team. The press release does not tell how exactly the tournament is to be continued. But it can be assumed that it will continue to deny Josef Göllner’s path. The Amadeus Agility Worldcup should also held again as a side event. It has been part of the Amadeus Horse Indoors for the past ten years already.
