Quickly after it became clear that the implementation of this year’s Dania Cup in Denmark would be utopian due to the strict guidelines, the organizers set up and planned a Dania Cup light. The majority of these should have taken place with mostly Danish teams and generally with fewer participants from July 15th to 18th.
On Saturday and yesterday the Danish government presented the releasing timetable from the COVID-19 pandemic. This provides for a return to normal within the next 4 weeks. Except for holding tournaments. There are promised to be some easing there as well, but events with more than 50 people are prohibited until at least mid-June. The opening of the border for non-Danes or residents is currently also not at the top of the priority list. The spongy formulations, which make planning impossible, have influenced the organizers to cancel the tournament before they even really started.
