Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the International Sheltie Competition 2020 in Denmark is also canceled. The decision comes as a bit of a surprise since the tournament would have actually taken place from November 6th to 8th. So a good six months to go until then. However, an understandable step considering the current world situation and also the financial risk in the event of a sudden cancellation. The Chairman of the International Sheltie Agility Championship Willem-Alexander Kelders announced this message on Facebook.
Initially, a one-year postponement was planned. After consultation with the Dutch organizers, who actually organize the tournament in 2021, the competition in Denmark has been postponed to 2022. Preparations in the Netherlands had already gone too far to postpone the tournament. The event in Mårslet, near the city of Aarhus, should have taken place in the beautiful national equestrian center Vilhelmsborg. The riding hall there is one of the largest in Northern Europe with room for up to 2,000 spectators. It is not yet known whether the hall will remain the venue in 2022.
