Claudia Schwabs 2018 was marked by highs and lows. The victory at the Swiss Agility Cup, only a few days after her birthday, is for once again a successful story. Especially after the failed title defending at European open three weeks ago. In the home tournament in Fräschels she don’t burn anything and mastered the heavy course of the Italian judge Sandra Deidda. A reason why only just five teams of 15 have reached the last jump without disqualification. More than four second ist the lead from Claudia Schwab to the second place from Evelyne Hunkeler and Lenny. And almost another three seconds to the third place from Chloé Boeufvé and Dounut. All three are members of the national team this year and will represent Switzerland in Sweden at the Agility World Cup.

As in the previous year, the Austrian Tamara Sedlmaier is the big overachiever of the medium tournament. Already in the qualification was there no way to pass the young Austrian with her Sheltie Limited Edition. She wins with a lead of five seconds to the second place and shows with that victory that we should remember her name for the World championship. Place two and three remain in Switzerland at Gudrun Hasler and her two poodles Camino and Sasu. Also a member of the Swiss national team. She could benefit from many failures. As in the small tournament, there were a total of 10 disqualifications till the end.

Also the large teams had problems with the tight course. Only six teams reached the finish line and of these six only two remained without mistakes. Corina Liniger and Simon Tabourat. The victory of Corina Liniger shows once again, that the sport writes history. Two years earlier at the European Open, everything was indicated that she and her Schapendoes Muffin must end their career after he was measured into the large category. After competing seven years as a medium dog. They fought from the bottom class again up to the top within two years. The final of the Swiss Agility Cup was the last official run of the two. A better way to assign than do it with a victory on a bigger tournament is not possible. A bit surprisingly is the second place from Simon Tabourat behind Corina Liniger. However, his run was not really perfect either. Third – with the overall best time – is Alexandra Lucchi with Border Collie Step. In spite of a clear best time, after a mistake on the A-Frame it reaches just for the third place. Or in this case, still for the third place.
